The Challenge


The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour, and one of the most important museums of its type in the world. Attercopia was successful in pitching for the redesign and redevelopment of the museum’s online shop, along with integration with their stock management system.

The project consisted of the following:

  • Redesign and redevelopment of the online shop
  • Integration with several new payment gateways
  • API integration with the incumbent ePos system, OpSuite
  • Migration of all category, product and order history data from the previous website

Our Solution


Aside from redesigning and redeveloping the online shop, our design team created a modern, conversion focussed online storefront based on the updated Royal Armouries brand guidelines.

The solution also included:

  • Streamlined checkout process with fewer steps
  • Better use of customer product reviews
  • Custom configuration of Google Analytics eCommerce tracking
  • Navigation more scalable to allow for an expected product catalogue of 2,000+ products
  • Integration with several new payment gateways
  • PayPal and American Express
  • API integration with the incumbent ePos system, OpSuite
  • Product SKU synchronisation between website and OpSuite system
  • Sales order generation for each order
  • Stock level monitoring across multiple sites
